Dear Volunteer:

The Hamburg Enhanced Recreation Organization (H.E.R.O.) is honored to have been granted the privilege to bring The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall to Hamburg Township.   The Moving Wall is a half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for more than twenty years - " IN HONOR OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES WHO SERVED IN THE VIETNAM WAR. THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES AND OF THOSE WHO REMAIN MISSING ARE INSCRIBED IN THE ORDER THEY WERE TAKEN FROM US. " ( Preamble of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial).

The Moving Wall attracts thousands of visitors from all around.   To host this memorial, volunteers will be needed to accomplish a whole list of tasks.   They include the following:

• Site Preparation
• Wall Assembly
• Security
• Parking
• Grounds
• Assisting Visitors to Locate Names
• Assisting the Handicapped
• Transportation from Parking Areas to Site
• Tear Down/Clean-up
